Ingredients

black peppercorns
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 200°F (93°C).
Spread the whole black peppercorns in a single layer on a baking sheet.
Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and roast the peppercorns for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Remove the baking sheet from the oven and let the peppercorns cool completely.
Transfer the roasted peppercorns to a spice grinder or mortar and pestle. Grind the peppercorns until they are finely ground.
Transfer the ground black pepper to an airtight container, such as a small jar, and store it in a cool, dry place until ready to use.
