  • Preheat your oven to 200°F (93°C).
  • Spread the whole black peppercorns in a single layer on a baking sheet.
  • Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and roast the peppercorns for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Remove the baking sheet from the oven and let the peppercorns cool completely.
  • Transfer the roasted peppercorns to a spice grinder or mortar and pestle. Grind the peppercorns until they are finely ground.
  • Transfer the ground black pepper to an airtight container, such as a small jar, and store it in a cool, dry place until ready to use.
