JUST IN TIME FOR WINTER: HELLY HANSEN'S LIFA PRO BELAY JACKET

I love my and . They are great shells, and for spending most of the time in the mountains of North Carolina, they are sufficient. However, if the temperature gets really cold, or we are traveling for a winter adventure, they don’t provide complete warmth without thoughtful layering on my part. That’s why I am excited about their new Lifa Pro Belay Insulated Jacket. Optimal warmth, can put up with terrible weather, and conveniently packable.

Insight from Search & Rescue crews, that spend many hours on frigid mountaintops, was used to build this incredibly protective jacket. With a high warmth to weight ratio for portability, it is very light and stuffs into a pouch the size of a football or rugby ball. Helly Hansen achieved superior warmth using their ground-breaking sheet insulation technology, LIFALOFT.

Through improved body mapping, the warmth is strategically dispersed. As always, they included the weatherproofing you need to be warm and dry. Additionally, the jacket boasts a PFC-free DWR coating to repel light precipitation in unpredictable weather.
