HOMEMADE ADOBO SEASONING RECIPE
WHAT IS ADOBO?
Adobo is both a spice blend and a marinade. You can do a dry rub with this, or add some oils and use it to marinate meat. The word “adobo” comes from adobar, which translates to “to marinate”. Makes sense.
Adobo is found in kitchens all over Latin America, Asia, Africa, and now yours!
You may also come across the term Adobado, which refers to any food that has been marinated with Adobo marinade. Commonly found in the Caribbean, Latin American, and Spanish kitchens.
WHAT DOES THIS ADOBO SEASONING TASTE LIKE?
If there is one thing that everyone can agree upon, it is that Adobo does not lack flavor. This adobo spice blend has a mix of garlic and chili powder, so you get some depth and heat. And there is an earthy undertone from oregano, cumin, and onion. Perfect for adding some kick to the most boring cuts of meat.
