HOMEMADE CAJUN SEASONING RECIPE
WHAT IS CAJUN SEASONING?
Cajun Seasoning hails from the state of Louisiana. Though home cooks and restaurant chefs all have their own version, and they all consider theirs the best, one thing is for certain, they bring the heat.
Authentic Cajun spice blends are not subtle in anyway, and they are perfect for adding some major kick to all sorts of meats, stews, soups, and even Cajun Pasta. It’s a necessity for gumbo, Jambalaya, and Cajun Shrimp Bakes (and shrimp boils).
WHAT DOES THE BEST CAJUN SEASONING TASTE LIKE?
As I have alluded to before, Cajun spice blends are bold and flavorful. Cayenne pepper and black pepper are going to be your main source of spice. Garlic powder, onion powder, and salt will provide the savoriness you taste in gumbo. And there is an earthy kick from the oregano and thyme.

- Garlic powder – ¼ cup
