APPLE CINNAMON MONKEY BREAD RECIPE

It has been said that the sense of smell can trigger powerful emotions and evoke memories from your childhood. I believe it. If you are like me, then walking past a Cinnabon at the mall is like a stroll down Memory Lane. The aroma wafting out of the shop is almost intoxicating. The same can be said for the smell of apple pie baking in the oven. For me, there is no confusing those two aromas with anything else on the planet. Now, if you were to combine the two of them, cinnamon rolls and apple pie, you just found the perfect way to start the day! Apple Cinnamon Monkey Bread is the treat you need, deserve, and will crave!

WHAT IS APPLE CINNAMON MONKEY BREAD?

Traditional Monkey Bread is a pull-apart bread made with pieces of biscuits, sugar, cinnamon, and butter. This Apple Pie Monkey Bread is a variation of the original, however instead of plain biscuits, you are going to use store-bought cinnamon rolls, and apple pie filling.

WHAT DOES THIS APPLE PIE MONKEY BREAD TASTE LIKE?

The best way that it was described to me, is that this recipe tasted like a deconstructed handheld apple pie. The kind that you get from gas stations and grocery stores here in North Carolina. The apple pie filling pairs perfectly with the doughy, cinnamon biscuit pieces. If you top it with the icing that comes with the biscuits, you are in for a treat!

CAN YOU MAKE APPLE PIE MONKEY BREAD AHEAD OF TIME?

Absolutely! Monkey Bread is great for pot-lucks or large gatherings. You can make it in advance, and cover it with aluminum foil to keep the biscuits from hardening. Or, bake it in a glass container that has a separate lid for longer storage and enjoyment.
