BLACKBERRIES AND CREAM BISCUIT CASSEROLE RECIPE

It may come as no surprise to you that I love food that includes biscuits as a primary ingredient. There is just something about the flaky, buttery goodness that biscuits carry. I also love the contrast of savory biscuits with sweet fruit. Blackberries in particular. If you want to surprise your family or guests with a sweet treat for breakfast or brunch, try this Blackberries & Cream Biscuit Casserole recipe. It makes enough for large groups, so you can even bring it to a potluck and upstage the usual boring submittals!

WHAT IS BLACKBERRIES AND CREAM BISCUIT CASSEROLE?

Exactly as it sounds, lol. This is a sweet breakfast treat that combines biscuits, cream cheese, sugar, and blackberries. It is in a way like a deconstructed fruit tart, or cream and fruit-filled cronut.

WHAT DOES THIS BISCUIT CASSEROLE TASTE LIKE?

If you like the Berries & Cream Breakfast Biscuit Bake, then you will love this recipe as well. It is very sweet and filling. The blackberries will also add a little bit of tartness to the mix.

HOW TO MAKE THIS BREAKFAST CASSEROLE RECIPE

This is a very simple recipe. Just a little bit of cutting of the biscuits and mixing a few ingredients, and then off into the oven!

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Coat a 9 x 11 casserole dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  3. In a large bowl, stir together cream cheese, powdered sugar, and milk.
  4. Fold in berries and biscuit pieces into cream cheese mixture. Pour into the casserole dish.
  5. Bake for 30 minutes, or until biscuit pieces are baked thoroughly. Serve immediately.

CAN YOU MAKE BLACKBERRIES AND CREAM CASSEROLE AHEAD OF TIME?

Yes. You can prep all the ingredients, put them in the casserole dish, and then refrigerate until you are ready to bake. However, I wouldn’t let it sit longer than 48 hours unbaked.

CAN YOU THIS BISCUIT BAKE?

Much like the Berries & Cream Breakfast Biscuit Bake, I wouldn’t freeze this either. If you were to try to re-heat this in the microwave, you run the risk of basically liquifying the blackberries. Though tasty, it probably wouldn’t be desirable.

WHAT TO SERVE WITH BLACKBERRIES AND CREAM BREAKFAST BISCUIT BAKE?

This breakfast casserole doesn’t necessarily need any other accompanying sides with it. However, if you are looking for other sweet treats, you might want to check out:
