Who has the best cheesesteak sandwich? You do! That’s who! These Philly Cheesesteak Sliders are a game-day treat for a crowd of hungry fans.

PHILLY CHEESESTEAK SLIDERS RECIPE

The first time I ever traveled to Philadelphia was as a freshman in college in central New York. The trip was a result of a group of friends and I not finding anything we wanted to snack on at the local grocery store. One of my friends said that she was in the mood for a cheesesteak sandwich. However, since she was from Philly, she wasn’t going to be satisfied with the Hot Pocket version. So, what do a few hungry college freshmen do? Well, jump in the car and drive to Pennsylvania at 2:00 am! We got into town way too early for cheesesteak restaurants in Philadelphia to be open. So, we waited and made a day of it. I have fond memories of that day, that sandwich, and those friends! I present to you: Philly Cheesesteak Sliders. Serve them up, and create some memories!

WHAT IS A PHILLY CHEESESTEAK?

A Philadelphia Cheesesteak Sandwich has some pretty standard ingredients: sliced steak, green peppers, cheese, and served in a hoagie roll. People can add sauteed onions, or instead of provolone cheese they will use Cheese Wiz but traditional cheesesteak sandwiches don’t vary much past that. Sliders use a lot of the ingredients of a traditional Philadelphia cheesesteak sandwich but shrink it down to a tasty little snack size.

WHAT DO THESE PHILLY CHEESESTEAK SLIDERS TASTE LIKE?

These Philly Sliders taste just like your favorite cheesesteak sandwich recipe, just smaller. The savory steak and fresh green peppers balance nicely with the cheeses and mayo. Toss it in a tiny bun, and you have one insanely flavorful snack!

CAN YOU MAKE PHILLY CHEESESTEAK SLIDERS AHEAD OF TIME?

Yes, you can make these cheesesteak sliders earlier in the day. Cover them up with aluminum foil or bake them in a baking dish that has a separate lid. These are best fresh out of the oven, so you don’t want them sitting out too long getting soggy, and potentially having the bread harden.

CAN YOU FREEZE PHILLY CHEESESTEAK SLIDERS?

You could freeze these sliders for later, however, make sure you store them in an air-tight container to avoid the buns from drying out too much.
