I have a thing for jalapeno poppers. Whenever I see them on a menu at a casual dining restaurant, I just have to order them. I may not even be in the mood for them when I walk into the restaurant, but when I come across them in the appetizer section, I just switch to autopilot, and soon a plate of them is in front of me. Strange, I know! Now, imagine all the goodness of that spicy little popper, and transform it into a grab-and-go slider sandwich! I present to you: Cheesy Turkey Jalapeno Popper Sliders. Order up!
WHAT ARE JALAPENO POPPER SLIDERS?
A Jalapeno Popper is a hollowed-out jalapeno pepper that is filled with usually cream cheese, and is breaded and then fried. This slider recipe has some similar attributes to those, however, you will be adding some more flavors with sliced turkey and bacon and loading all the ingredients into King’s Hawaiian Slider Rolls.

Spicy and savory! These Jalapeno Popper Sliders are delicious. They are loaded with juicy turkey, spicy cream cheese, and lots of savory bacon. It has a perfect balance of flavors for such a small sandwich.
TURKEY JALAPENO POPPER SLIDERS INGREDIENTS
- King’s Hawaiian Slider Rolls – 12
- Cream Cheese – 4 ounces
- Deli-sliced turkey meat – 1 pound
- Colby Jack Cheese – 6 slices
- Bacon – 6 slices
- Jalapeno pepper – 1
- Butter – 8 tablespoons
- Ground cumin – 1 teaspoon
- Garlic powder – 1/2 teaspoon
- Onion powder – 1/2 teaspoon
- Panko style breadcrumbs – 1/4 cup
HOW TO MAKE THIS CHEESY JALAPENO POPPER SLIDERS RECIPE
These little sandwiches are super easy to make! The hardest part will be not burning your tongue while trying to eat them right out of the oven!
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Separate rolls into a top and bottom pieces
- Coat a 9 x 13 casserole dish with nonstick cooking spray.
- Arrange the bottom halves of the rolls in the casserole dish.
- Spread 1 teaspoon of cream cheese on each roll.
- Construct the sandwiches with sliced turkey, 1/2 slice of Colby Jack cheese, bacon crumbles, and chopped jalapeños, for each sandwich.
- Add the top half of slider rolls to the sandwiches.
- In a small saucepan, melt butter, and add ground cumin, garlic powder, and onion powder. And mix well.
- Brush tops of sliders with melted butter mixture.
- Top with breadcrumbs, and bake for 20 minutes.
- Serve hot and enjoy.
CAN YOU MAKE THESE SPICY TURKEY SLIDERS AHEAD OF TIME?
This is a great recipe to make a few hours in advance if you plan on bringing them to a tailgate party or a large gathering. Just keep them covered up in aluminum foil to keep them fresh.
CAN YOU FREEZE TURKEY SLIDERS?
These sandwiches are best enjoyed fresh, it would be difficult to reheat these and not cause the cream cheese to liquefy and cause a sloppy mess.

- 4 oz. cream cheese softened
- 1 pound sliced deli turkey meat
- 6 slices Colby Jack cheese

- 1 tsp ground cumin
- ½ tsp garlic powder
