A sheet pan pancake is a great idea for feeding kids on hectic mornings before school. Just add syrup or their favorite toppings!
Looking for a way to speed up your routine in the morning? I have found that prepping some breakfasts that I can heat up for the kids in the microwave is a good way to get them fed and keep them energized for their day at school. A sheet pancake is a great dish to add to your kid-friendly meal prep routine.
Sheet pan pancakes use the same ingredients as a traditional pancake, however, the batter is oven-baked in a large baking dish or on a deep-rimmed baking sheet instead of on the stove in a skillet. It is a more effortless way of making pancakes since you are making one giant pancake instead of a bunch of smaller pancakes.
Sheet pan pancakes taste nearly identical to traditional pancakes cooked in a pan, they just tend to be a little thicker since you are not usually layering them like you would with regular pancakes. This pancake recipe provides a delicious, blank canvas for whatever toppings you desire!
Sheet pancakes are a great, easy item to add to your breakfast meal prep recipes. I like to cook a batch of these and store them in the refrigerator in an airtight container to keep them fresh. Then throughout the week, in the mornings, I will just reheat a couple in the microwave for a hot breakfast for the kids before school.
Just slice these pancakes up into serving sizes and store them in an airtight container to prevent freezer burn. I have also found that separating them with wax paper is helpful to keep the pancakes from freezing together in one giant block.
Sheet Pan Pancakes can be served on their own with a wide variety of toppings, or as part of a bigger breakfast or brunch spread. If you want to add to the menu, check out these recipes:
