AMISH COUNTRY CASSEROLE RECIPE

Picture the scene: It’s a cold winter day or even a rainy fall afternoon, and you are craving some comfort food. You don’t have enough time or desire to go all out on some chicken and dumplings, but you want a meal that is satisfying and savory. Amish Country Casserole, enter stage left!

This hearty, meaty, noodle casserole is a great way to satisfy your comfort food urge. Think of it as Beef Stroganoff’s stunt double. Very similar from a distance, but has daring qualities that Beef Stroganoff just can’t handle. Next time you are shuffling through the grocery store, grab yourself some canned soup, noodles, and ground beef, and get to work.

WHAT DOES THIS HAMBURGER AND NOODLE CASSEROLE TASTE LIKE?

This casserole has some similar qualities to Beef Stroganoff, given its creaminess and savory, meaty flavors. One of the main differences between these two dishes is the addition of tomato soup which adds an entirely different level of flavors.

You can make this casserole ahead of time. Just make sure that you seal it in an air-tight container. It can be stored in the fridge for a few days, however the longer it sits, the softer the noodles will get.
