Taco Tuesdays have their spices, and now, so do Fajita Fridays! This Homemade Fajita Marinade Seasoning is ready to rock in a few minutes.
HOMEMADE FAJITA MARINADE SEASONING RECIPE
WHAT IS A FAJITA?
Fajitas are a TexMex recipe. They usually consist of meat that is sliced thinly and vegetables such as bell peppers and onions. The meat can be chicken, steak, or sometimes shrimp or fish. The meat and vegetables are sauteed or grilled and served with corn or flour tortillas, rice and beans, and toppings like salsa, guacamole, and sour cream. All the ingredients are placed in the tortilla and eaten by hand, similar to a taco.
WHAT DOES THIS FAJITA MARINADE SEASONING TASTE LIKE?
You will probably notice that this fajita seasoning tastes similar to Homemade Taco Seasoning, or even Pork Carnitas Seasoning. Mix in a little oil, either olive oil or avocado oil to get the fajita spices to stick to the meat you will be cooking.

CAN YOU MAKE FAJITA MARINADE SEASONING AHEAD OF TIME?
Absolutely! I like to have a jar of this fajita seasoning and all sorts of homemade spices on hand for whenever the craving strikes.
As a rule of thumb, when making spice blends: the earliest expiration date on your ingredients is now the new expiration date for your homemade fajita spices.
CAN YOU FREEZE FAJITA SEASONING?
Though it is not necessary to freeze this fajita spice mix, you can store it in the freezer. If you do, make sure it is an airtight, freezer-safe container to keep the original flavors fresh.
WHAT TO SERVE USING FAJITA MARINADE SPICES?
Fajitas really are a whole meal. Most fajitas have protein, lettuce, rice, beans, and possibly sour cream and cheese, combine all the ingredients and wrap them in a tortilla. Yum! Looking for some more recipes to serve alongside your fajitas? Check out these:
