BLACKBERRY BISCUIT BOMBS RECIPE

WHAT IS A BISCUIT BOMB?

Biscuit bombs are, wait for it, the bomb. Place your preferred ingredients inside Pillsbury biscuits, fold the dough over, and bake them. These resemble jelly doughnuts and hand pies in that respect. But you may also build something that resembles a little calzone using savory ingredients.

WHAT DOES THIS CREAM CHEESE BISCUIT BOMB WITH BLACKBERRIES TASTE LIKE?

The flavor of this blackberry biscuit bomb is a cross between a jelly doughnut and a hot blackberry pie. Simple as that, lovely as that!

HOW TO MAKE THIS BLACKBERRY BISCUIT RECIPE

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F
  2. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper
  3. In a saucepan, on the stove over medium-high heat, combine blackberries, granulated sugar, light brown sugar, cornstarch, ground cinnamon, and ground nutmeg. Stir occasionally for 5 minutes, or until the fruit mixture has thickened to the consistency of jam.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, using a hand mixer, beat cream cheese and powdered sugar until fluffy, approximately 1 minute.
  5. Split biscuits in half to form 16 dough circles. Arrange 8 of them on a parchment-lined baking sheet with about 2 inches of space between them.
  6. Spoon 1 tablespoon of cream cheese onto each biscuit. Spoon 1 tablespoon of blackberry filling on top of cream cheese. Top each with the remaining halves of biscuit dough. Crimp and seal edges with a fork. Any remaining filling can be used for dipping when serving.
  7. Bake according to directions on Pillsbury Grands Biscuit can (usually 13-16 minutes).
  8. Once biscuits are golden brown, melt butter in the microwave, and using a basting brush, brush the tops of the biscuits.
  9. Serve hot and enjoy!

CAN YOU MAKE BISCUIT BOMBS AHEAD OF TIME?

The fruit filling is the only component of this dish that I would prepare in advance. When you are ready to assemble and bake the biscuits, you can prepare it and store it in the refrigerator. Serve them fresh if not.

CAN YOU FREEZE FRUIT FILLED BISCUIT BOMBS?

Fruit biscuit bombs taste best when they are hot and fresh from the oven. You’ll end up with a mess if you freeze them and then attempt to reheat them. Additionally, baking, freezing, and microwaving biscuits will destroy their texture. Biscuits can only be made so many times.

WHAT TO SERVE WITH BLACKBERRY STUFFED BISCUITS?

You may eat these biscuits with blackberries on their own as a standalone brunch item or include them in a larger morning buffet spread. If you’re looking for more mouthwatering breakfast options, consider trying:
